Spring Cleaning updates for the #beebettermovement nation
If you’re following the bible study, you know that this week’s activity is to tackle something that we’ve had our mind on for a while now. I follow my cleaning schedule every week, but sometimes I just need to tackle something that’s gotten out of hand. This week, I have a list, a whooping list of little and big things that I just WANT to do in my kitchen, and for my sanity, NEED to do (my kitchen is where I spend the most time-and have the most stuff). Where are the “my things are falling off of my pantry shelf” mama’s at? My baking cabinet was one of those things. Things were just a tad bit scattered around, and I would have to dig to find cocoa powder, and I was just ready for a change. I also added corn starch to a batch of icing last week thinking it was powdered sugar, so there’s that…. As a side note, I ran over to Honey’s earlier to add some outgrown baby clothes to my attic stash and found her knee deep in pictures and videos. “What are you doing?” I asked her. “Well, someone is suggesting that I organize something in my home this week as our bible study activity so I chose this. Thanks a lot!”. LOVE IT!! Go Honey!
I’ve been on a huge glass kick lately. Like threw most every plastic thing out of my house (oops). I just started to think about all of the plastic nasties that are leached into food and drinks and opted for glass. Every little thing makes us healthier right? Right! Do you know how many groceries we buy in glass containers and throw away! I’ve been saving every little glass thing, and storing them in the cabinet above my fridge for when I need a small glass dish. Pyrex is great too! I needed to label all of my glass containers anyways, and had snatched some of these cute chalkboard ones at World Market a few weeks ago, so it was time to put them to use!
I took my cabinet from drab (okay, not too drab, but drab enough that it was bothering me)
To totally fab. (Anyone remember Cadet Kelly from the Disney Channel? That was totally her movie’s tag line..)
Why yes, my rice does say “Rice Rice Baby”. Proud 73rd Rice Festival Queen up in here.
Moving on to my pantry today! This project requires a drill, a skill saw, and a trip to the hardware store, so I’ll be employing my husband’s skills. He’ll be super stoked, I’m sure!
Off to clean! I hope you are all making headway! Hopefully this is a slice of incentive for you! Show me what you’ve been up to! I’d love to see!!!
