We believe in family, big ones to be exact. We believe in quality time over TV time. We try to make every day an adventure, where something is learned and much is gained. We believe in growing your own food, and raising your own kids. We believe in giving, and giving a lot. We believe in God and in heaven. We believe in nutritious meals and a good night’s rest. We believe in the right to bear arms, and working hard for everything you have. We detest laziness and promote holistic lifestyles. We believe in love and life. We believe that the country is still the best place to live and that fishing is the best past time. We believe in ginger snaps and Christmas, and that a home cooked meal can make your heart smile. We believe that standing for something keeps you from falling for anything. We believe that speaking kindly to one another requires as much effort as speaking rudely. We believe the crisp air of fall and the warm sun of summer. We believe that small businesses are the best kind of businesses, and we believe in one another.
Now, let’s meet!
I studied at McNeese State University, where I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, I am a registered nurse (RN), but motherhood took center stage in my life, so that’s my current profession! The nurse in me gets excited whenever someone needs a band-aid (sad..I know.) and I also use my medical/biology background to pursue my passion of educating others about holistic living and the efficacy and safe usage of essential oils. I love to cook, clean, and I’m a self proclaimed organizing expert. I have long hair and even longer fingers and toes. I love the outdoors, our horses, and fishing with my groom, but I love the climate controlled indoors as well. I have way too many books and read way too much about anything I plan to do. I think knowledge is power and I get carried away with that concept at times. I think pregnancy, labor, and breastfeeding are some of the most beautiful things on this earth, and found/find God’s perfect plan strongly present in all three of these stages. I like chocolate, and lots of it. I’m a planner and an optimist. I am deeply concentrated on proper diets, minds, and bodies. I thank God everyday for the life he has given me and am learning to allow him to take control.
Ben is my groom and he has the deepest voice you will ever hear. He works hard every single day and never complains (I’m not joking…he has seriously never whined about working) He owns his own company, and it is the best occupation a guy like him could have. I am proud of him everyday for accomplishing so much, so young. He works with his hands in the hot sun or the cold winter. He sweats, and bleeds, and does all of this so that I can live out my dream of being a full time mom. He is a family man at its finest and teaches us hard work, Jesus’s word, how to give, and how to laugh. He’s a hoot and holler. He loves to fish, hunt, and everything manly. You would love him…I sure do.
Hattie Leigh is the best big sister. She is a honeymoon baby and we will forever be grateful to God for choosing to send her to us. She is growing so fast and is quite precocious. She loves to sing, laugh, dance and make new friends. She is the happiest little girl we have ever seen and she lights up our entire world. She talks like a parrot and loves to “go, go, go”. She thinks dance class and library days are the best things in life. She loves her little brother, her daddy, and she loves to read books. She keeps us on our toes, and makes us remember on the daily why life is so worth living.
Todd Anthony is our second born, and our first boy! Yes, his first name is Todd Anthony, and I know it’s a mouthful, but he was named after his grandfathers, so its a strong name that we’re kind of in love with. He is sweet, and squishy, and the biggest little cuddler. He made our family fuller and funner with his baby coos and his sweet little lips. We can’t wait to see how he will grow and remind us of/yet be completely different than big sis. I can bet he’ll be a whole lot bigger than that tiny little female above!
to be continued….eventually!
