As the title of this post proclaims, I will now, very belatedly, introduce you to Todd Anthony, in all of his glory. It was hard core flu season here when he arrived on Christmas Eve, and our usual photographer had her home swarming with the little virus, AND it was cold, so my new mama hormones just wanted to protect and be protected by our warm home for as long as possible. I’ve been playing with my camera since last spring, using it ONLY in the manual mode-that way I would force myself to be as ready as possible to capture some semi-descent pictures of my new baby. I’ve had lots of practice, what with blog posts, and my prop that I call Hattie along the way. I set up shop in our bedroom, with every blind open to let in as much natural light as possible. I propped the biggest brown blanket we had over our headboard, and emptied Hattie’s puzzle basket, filled it with a fluffy white (newly washed) rug from the nursery, and we had a newborn photo shoot set up people! Improvisation at its finest, don’t you think? Oh, and I should warn you. I stay far far far away from editing programs. Everything is au natural over here. It’s stressful enough changing my ISO setting every few minutes..
So, without further ado, lets ooh and ahh over my chunky little monkey. I’ll try to narrate as little as humanly possible but I’m not one to be short on words. As you all know.
The hat in the picture above was Ben’s dad’s (Paw). Paw’s mom, (Mimi) gave it to me, along with a box of her kiddos baby clothes while I was still pregnant. I took this picture specifically so that Paw could have a print of it to put in his office and show off to everyone. And don’t you worry. He already did.
I want to kiss him. lucky for me he’s in the mamaroo right next to me. unlucky for you however, because now I’ve got you thinking about kissing him too..
More kisses… Oh, and I’m actually stopping to kiss him by the way.
Let me ruin the beauty of the tiny toes to point out that he has newborn poop on his ankle…a minor casualty of those naked baby pictures that I thought I had cleaned up…
Price tag still intact!
a sea of rolls. a fuzzy arm. i am obsessed.
Aren’t we all…..
